More extreme weather events
The U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports that February 2017, December 2016 – February 2017, and 2017 year-to-date are the 2nd warmest in the 1880-2017 records. The previous year stays in 1st place.
Extreme weather has already wreaked havoc around the world in 2017:
- Wildfires in Chile in January followed by flooding in February leaving millions without water
- Heatwave in Australia in January followed by flooding in March
- Flooding in California in January followed by more flooding in February
